Bacon & Company Director to run in London Marathon!

In the bustling world of estate agency, where deals are made, properties are bought and sold and negotiations are constant, it’s easy to picture the life of an estate agent director as one filled with meetings and contracts.

However, beyond this realm of figures and finances, our long-serving director Wayne Kenward has broken out of the world of the office and embarked on the path of competing in the London Marathon 2024!

As a seasoned estate agent director, Wayne thrives in the fast-paced environment of property dealings. Having been in the Worthing housing industry for over 40 years, he is one of the most experienced estate agents in the area.

The London Marathon is one of the most prestigious long-distance running events in the world. It typically takes place in April and has been running since 1981, attracting all variations of athletes from around the world. The course spans 26.2 miles (42.195 kilometres) through the streets of London, passing by iconic landmarks such as the Tower Bridge, the Houses of Parliament, and Buckingham Palace.

The event is also well known for its charitable fundraising efforts. Wayne has selected to run for the British Heart Foundation, aiming to raise £2500 for this incredible cause. So far he has achieved over 80% of his goal and with around 2 weeks left before the big day, he is sure to reach this mark!

Wayne’s own history with heart disease makes him even more determined to run for this charity. Every £24 raised could pay for two hours of research by a scientist as part of this invaluable cause.

This daunting 26.2 mile challenge will require all the mental fortitude, meticulous planning and unwavering commitment that Wayne can muster. Luckily his estate agency career has given him all these aspects, as he will always go the extra mile to push a completion over the line.

For the last few months Wayne has been braving the winter conditions each weekend to ensure he is in prime condition to take on the marathon. His training schedule has led him to complete 6 half marathons on back-to-back weekends, a testament to his determination.

Balancing these rigorous training sessions within his busy schedule has been a trial which Wayne has risen to, and all of us here at Bacon & Company are supporting him in his journey. We know that he will approach this challenge with the same tenacity that he has been bringing to work all these years!

Stay tuned for an update on Wayne’s journey after he has completed the marathon on April 21st. In the meanwhile, you can support him and read more about him by following this donation link:
